What makes us different from other closets?

The Positive Edge Experience does not just give women a bag full of donated clothing. Instead, we take the time to meet with each woman by appointment only, allowing us to give all clients the individual attention they deserve. This assures that all of our clients receive a personalized experience and are dressed appropriately to maximize on their figure and character. But do not be fooled, The Positive Edge is not just about clothing. We provide excellent counseling, and are associated with hair salons, dentist offices, and other local partners who help give our clients confidence to get a job and get their lives and families back together.

General Services

The Positive Edge Experience provides professional clothing, accessories, image enhancement services, and career development support to low-income women and a limited number of men from East Contra Costa County that are actively seeking employment. In additional to clothing, clients are instructed on the importance of attire, grooming, behavior and personal presentation during job training classes, job interviews and in workplace decorum. Our collaborating agencies and community resources refer clients. In order to provide maximum benefits from our service clients are seen by appointment only in an environment that maintains their privacy and contributes to a positive learning experience.

Smile Dental

The Positive Edge Experience has implemented a dental program called Smile Dental. The purpose of this program is to provide clients who have drastic dental needs with an opportunity to improve their chances of achieving economic self-sufficiency. The Positive Edge Experience recommends a limited number of clients to the ABC Dental Group, under the care of B. Khayatan D.D.S., for evaluation and help with their dental needs. Together, we are able to help our clients build self-esteem and confidence by giving the client the ability to smile.
